JU88000: Successful Delivery and Assembly of Largest IMM
Haitian International recently delivered a two-platen Jupiter 88000, one of the largest injection molding machines in the world, to France after months of planning and international logistics. The machine was installed and commissioned at the Belli factory in Nurieux, France. Belli SAS develops and produces a wide range of plastic articles for home and garden, leisure and the environment.
The JU88000 sets an industry record for an injection molding machine with a single injection unit with a clamping force of 8,973 U.S. tons. The footprint of the giant is 89.2 feet long x 31.1 feet wide and 20.0 feet high. The weight of the clamping platen is 276,000 pounds and the injection unit weights 170,000 pounds. The machine’s total weight is 1,260,000 pounds. All told, there is approximately 16 miles of wiring in communication / BUS technology. We believe the first use of a super large diameter 300mm screw is a record – the largest in the world.
Belli’s Managing Director Eric Chanal when asked what prompted him to order what is probably the largest and most powerful injection molding machine in the world: “I wanted to have no limits on the injection volume and told myself I would take the largest machine in the world so that I could produce very, very large parts.” The aim is to provide extremely large plastic containers as water tanks and rainwater storage tanks to support the water supply in Europe’s regions with little rainfall, but it can be used for all types of industries and large product applications.
