About the Role

The Human Resources Director is the senior on-site HR leader for Absolute Haitian and is
responsible for leading and administering human resources across the Worcester,
Massachusetts operation and supporting the company's South Carolina and Ohio locations. This
hands-on role partners closely with executive leadership and site managers to ensure
consistent HR practices, strong employee relations, effective recruiting and retention, and
compliance with applicable federal and state employment requirements. The Director will
balance strategic HR leadership with day-to-day execution and will travel to the South Carolina
and Ohio locations to support employees, leaders, audits, training, and business needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the HR function for the Massachusetts, South Carolina, and Ohio operations, ensuring consistent practices while addressing state-specific employment requirements and business needs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and managers on workforce planning, organizational structure, staffing, employee engagement, performance, and people-related business decisions.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, investigations, coaching, corrective action, conflict resolution, performance issues, and employment separations, with appropriate documentation and consistency.
  • Maintain multistate employment compliance, including wage and hour, leave and accommodation requirements, EEO/ADA obligations, Form I-9 and work-authorization processes, required notices, personnel records, and policy administration; coordinate with employment counsel when needed.
  • Oversee recruiting and hiring processes for assigned locations, including job descriptions, requisitions, candidate screening, interview practices, offer letters, pre-employment requirements, onboarding, and new-hire integration.
  • Partner with payroll and finance to support accurate employee data, compensation changes, timekeeping practices, payroll inputs, deductions, and HRIS records, and resolve employee payroll-related issues promptly.
  • Oversee employee benefits administration and annual enrollment activities, including eligibility, enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, employee questions, and coordination with brokers, carriers, and vendors.
  • Maintain compensation and classification practices, including job descriptions, FLSA status, market reviews, promotions, salary and hourly rate changes, and internal pay consistency.
  • Lead performance-management processes, manager coaching, employee development, training, succession planning, and other initiatives that strengthen leadership capability and workforce effectiveness.
  • Coordinate workers' compensation, workplace injury response, leave administration, return-to-work matters, and safety-related HR responsibilities in partnership with operations and applicable vendors.
  • Develop, update, and administer employee handbooks, policies, HR procedures, SOPs, forms, record-retention practices, and confidential personnel files.
  • Monitor HR metrics and trends, identify process gaps, and provide practical recommendations that improve compliance, employee experience, efficiency, and leadership visibility.
  • Travel to the South Carolina and Ohio locations to build relationships with employees and leaders, support HR initiatives, conduct reviews or audits, deliver training, and address site-specific needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive human resources experience, including meaningful responsibility for employee relations, compliance, recruiting, and HR operations; prior HR leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Direct multistate HR experience required; experience supporting employees in Massachusetts, South Carolina, and/or Ohio is strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements, including wage and hour, leave, accommodations, anti-discrimination, and recordkeeping obligations.
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing, industrial, technical-service, distribution, or similarly operational workforce preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct workplace investigations, manage sensitive employee relations issues, coach leaders, and exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems and Microsoft Office; Paychex Flex experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, analytical, and project-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations.
  • Ability to work on-site in Worcester Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and travel regularly to the South Carolina and Ohio locations.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred but not required.

Working Conditions

This position is based on-site at Absolute Haitian's Worcester, Massachusetts location and works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The work environment includes both office and manufacturing areas, with regular interaction with employees, managers, visitors, and operational teams. The role requires travel by automobile and/or air to company locations in South Carolina and Ohio, including overnight travel as business needs require. On-site activities may require walking or standing in manufacturing areas and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). Occasional work outside standard hours may be necessary to address urgent employee matters, travel, or operational needs.

The Global Operations Specialist will serve as a critical connector between U.S. and China-based business functions, ensuring alignment on project deliverables, timelines, and data accuracy. This role is critical in ensuring accurate reporting, smooth logistics, and efficient coordination across inventory, payments, shipping, and sales operations. Essential Functions‍

  • Support daily operational and project management activities between U.S. and China-based teams to ensure alignment on operations and priorities.
  • Prepare and analyze data using advanced Excel functions, QuickBase, and prior experience with Salesforce and NetSuite are highly preferred.
  • Track and report progress on assigned projects, maintaining meticulous attention to changes in schedules, requirements, and deliverables.

South Carolina Operations Manager – (Moncks Corner)

Position Overview

The South Carolina Operations Manager is a leadership role responsible for the full operational performance of Absolute Haitian Corporation’s 116,000 sq ft Moncks Corner facility. This individual will oversee all inbound and outbound logistics for injection molding machines, robotics, and auxiliary equipment; manage in-house option installs and machine build-outs; lead applications center operations; and drive upcoming strategic initiatives including the Assembled in America SKD injection molding machine and SKD robot programs. This role requires a detail-oriented, process-driven professional who thrives in a fast-moving, high-value capital equipment environment.

Essential Functions‍

Facility & Operations Leadership

  • Oversee all daily operations across the 116,000 sq ft Moncks Corner facility including warehouse, manufacturing bays, shipping & receiving docks, and office functions.
  • Direct management of inbound and outbound logistics for all product lines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Coordinate multi-level docking operations, overhead crane activities (including 50-ton crane), and flatbed truck logistics for large-tonnage machine deliveries.
  • Oversee facility safety programs, preventive maintenance schedules, building security, and OSHA compliance.

Machine Options & In-House Assembly

  • Manage in-house installation of machine options and accessories including hydraulic valve gates, pneumatic valve gates, screw and barrel swaps and other customer-specified configurations.
  • Coordinate with engineering and service teams to ensure option installs meet quality standards and on-time delivery commitments.
  • Lead build-out and commissioning activities for large-tonnage machines (700+ U.S. tons) prior to customer delivery.

SKD Programs – Assembled in America Initiative

  • Drive the operational execution of the Assembled in America SKD injection molding machine program, including kitting, sequencing, and production throughput.
  • Oversee SKD robotics assembly operations and develop scalable SOPs for repeatable, high-quality builds.
  • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and sales to manage program timelines and delivery commitments.

Production Scheduling & ERP/MRP Management

  • Own and manage production schedules for machine assembly, option installs, SKD builds, and outbound deliveries across multiple concurrent product lines.
  • Administer NetSuite ERP/MRP/IRP workflows including work orders, BOMs, inventory control, purchase orders, and demand planning.
  • Maintain accurate real-time inventory across all stock machines, parts, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Generate and manage production and logistics KPI reporting for executive leadership.

Applications Center & Customer Experience

  • Oversee operations of the applications center including mold trial scheduling, customer demonstrations, and open house events.
  • Ensure the applications center is maintained to world-class standards with properly configured machines, chillers, TCUs, and automation cells.
  • Support planning and logistics for customer visits, training programs, and corporate open houses.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead, develop, and mentor the SC operations team including warehouse staff, logistics coordinators, and support personnel.
  • Collaborate with each facility to align on operational priorities.
  • Develop and continuously improve facility SOPs, work instructions, workplace organization, and quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with semi-knocked-down (SKD) or CKD assembly programs in a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of injection molding machinery, plastics processing equipment, and/or industrial robotics.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence certification (Green Belt or higher preferred, but not required).
  • Experience managing applications centers, demo labs, or customer-facing technical facilities.

Required Experience and Education

  • 5+ years of operations management experience in a capital equipment, industrial manufacturing, or heavy logistics environment.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with NetSuite ERP, MRP, and IRP — including work orders, BOMs, production scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Proven experience managing complex production schedules across multiple concurrent product lines.
  • Experience overseeing shipping & receiving operations for large, high-value equipment such as machinery and robotics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive accountability in a fast-paced operational environment.

Automation Support Engineer

Position Overview

The Automation Support Engineer plays a key role in the overall success of the automation engineering department for the Absolute Group. This position reports to the Automation Engineering Manager. The primary focus will be to assist in the development of custom automation projects, and primarily their support in the field. This is a travel‑intensive position, with overnight travel by air or automobile primarily on Monday – Friday to customer facilities across the U.S. and Canada.

Essential Functions‍

  • Involved in custom automation engineering customer status meetings from the conception of the project to installation.
  • Support development. Assembly, and testing Hilectro robots in South Carolina facility.  
  • Support custom higher level cartesian robot projects through installation, support, and service.
  • Installation support and service of our key account Haitian Smart Solution projects.
  • Support and startup of all automation solutions. This includes:
    • Learning and supporting all our robot lines (Fanuc, Well-lih, Hilectro)
    • Custom conveyor systems.
    • Vision Systems
    • Laser Marking
    • Various auxilary automation equipment
  • Provide basic mechanical design of automation components and prototype designs.
  • Provide onsite customer installation, commissioning, and training of automation systems.

Required Experience and Education

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, controls engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Must be bilingual – English/Mandarin
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional industry experience or equivalent combination of internships/co-ops with demonstrable automation or controls exposure.
  • Foundational experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley or equivalent). Ability to modify, and troubleshoot basic ladder logic or function block programs.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for reading and editing electrical schematics
  • Introductory experience with HMI/SCADA development; understanding of tag-based programming and basic operator interface design.
  • Exposure to industrial robotics (FANUC, ABB, or similar) and/or machine vision systems (Keyence, Cognex) with strong interest in developing programming skills.
  • Awareness of industrial safety systems and PILZ safety controllers; classroom or project exposure preferred.

Working Conditions

Working conditions are normal for an office and industrial environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift 50 pounds safely.
  • Push / Pull 150 pounds.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to safely climb a ladder. Comfortable with heights.
  • Ability to kneel for 5-minute intervals.
  • Ability to torque (tighten and loosen) screws, bolts, and nuts repetitively.
